Florilegium auditions new voices at the beginning of each concert cycle (September, January & March). While openings in each section fluctuate slightly from season to season, we are always interested to hear new voices of all ranges.
The choir rehearses on Monday nights at Trinity Lutheran Church. The choir’s base schedule revolves around performing three main concerts per year, with occasional additional concerts and collaborative ventures. Eight to ten rehearsals precede each concert. The challenging material and compressed rehearsal schedule demand significant musicianship, sight-singing skills, and effort outside of rehearsals. We perform a cappella and with accompaniment, as called for by the repertoire.
The audition process involves vocalization, singing a
prepared piece (in any language), and singing a new
piece within the context of a quartet.
